Making a sFoam Blank
We test new shapes, get
feedback from custom shapers and use our own knowledge as surfers
to design our sFoam blanks.
Starting in a computer drawing
application, we create rocker and template curves that are smoothed
automatically by the application. This gives a pure natural
curve.
Next, we covert these drawings
to a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) program.
A CNC controlled, custom-built
saw cuts the blank from a foam billet with an accuracy of .008
of an inch.
If the customer orders a precision
template, the same method is applied and the template is cut.
By giving us your custom, precise dimensions, sFoam
can deliver a pre-finished blank that will cut your shaping
labor 35% or more.
